Shockwave S1 NavCom Pod is designed to carry the operator plus instruments and controls in suspension. Mounting the controls in suspension enhances vessel control and reduces operator fatigue. Integrating controls and instruments into the suspension package also protects sensitive equipment from shock damage and makes instruments easier to read. The combined seat and pod is designed to not bottom out in severe impacts while retaining soft cushioning in lighter sea conditions.
The adjustable progressive spring rate FOX Float shock absorber has 203mm (8”) travel which provides a high level of shock mitigation and vibration attenuation. Ergonomic, sculpted seat cushions are made with body heat activated, body contour forming, EAF energy absorbing viscoelastic foam. The ballistic nylon upholstery covers are puncture and tear resistant plus easy to replace if required.
Specifications include welded 304 stainless steel chassis, 6061 T6 aluminum machined components and 5086 H32 aluminum welded components certified to CWB/AWS welding standards. Finish is hard anodize and polyester powder coat. Seat construction materials include EAF energy absorbing foam with hand stitched ballistic nylon upholstery.
The Shockwave NavCom helmsman control head allows for installation of steering and throttle controls or an electronic navigation unit. There are many custom control heads available to mount a variety of steering pumps, throttle binnacles and instrument packages. The built in storage box provides storage for safety gear and personal effects. Adjustment options include height adjustment, deck track and seat slider. Options include folding armrests, pistol grip handgrips, rear handrail and multi-point seat belts.
