Various component parts can be combined to create a suspension seat or suspension system. The shock absorber and damper can be combined in a hinged mechanism that includes parallell swing arms or built into vertical travel shock absorbing suspension posts or pedestals. As tehnology evolves upgrade and replacement components for existing suspension seats include high specification shock absorber, spring and damper units known as 'shocks'. Semi-active controls can use electonic measurement of seat movement to alter performance of the shock absorber. Adjutable height foot rests and adjustable postion steering wheels and throttles can improve ergonomics and comfort for seat occupants. High specification foams and various technologies of cushioning materials can be used to improve the performance of the seat pad.
